Making Films in Japan – Writer, Director and Producer John Williams will talk about his experiences making three award-winning Japanese-language feature films, Firefly Dreams (Ichiban Utsukushii Natsu, 2001), Starfish Hotel (2007) and Sado Tempest (2013).  He will talk about the creation, production, and reception of these films and about the Japanese film industry and will show clips from his recently completed fourth feature, a Japanese language adaptation of The Trial (Shinpan, 2018) set in contemporary Tokyo.
